Cadsoft called me the other day…noticed I hadn’t upgraded to the latest version yet. (still on v13)
The attached picture is the stupid kind of stuff that keeps me from spending any more money on this software…
In almost 30 years of design and construction I have never….EVER been asked to design a corner window…or a corner door…of the type Cadsoft apparently spent major resources developing for their last two releases…
I design gables on just about every single job I touch…every week, every month…year after year…
I NEED GABLES THAT WORK!!!!
3d trees are useless
Schedules of every type are worthless
Corner doors & windows are utterly useless
If the program cannot accurately, efficiently and consistently model a damn gable roof…
I have been using this software for 7 years now and they have done absolutely nothing to correct any of the myriad of issues with gable roofs…
but the first time a client requests a corner door or window…I guess I’ll consider upgrading
Unfortunately, no I am not upgrading at this time, again.
Converting it to a surface should fix it but I guess I don’t know for sure.
Could you share it with me I’d like to check it out for you, if you don’t want to share it on here I could give you my email to send it directly.
I agree, i never even saw a corner window in a house anywhere. Might be a more modern house thing I don’t know
I’d rather have upgraded cabinets etc.
Hey I wanted to add there are two features I really like in this update. That is the capability to import larger files and the obj. Files will be great for interior design work.

Me? I’d love to have roof trusses in a truss run that actually look like Australian roof trusses. I’ve never even seen a photo of a truss in North America that looks like Cadsoft trusses. They didn’t get them right in v13 & haven’t ever fixed them.
/end rant

Yeah i know Merv,
I just don’t bother showing trusses unless I’m doing a decorative truss then i just make it on my own. one problem the wood grain is painted on at the wrong angle. I just do different kitchen cabinet designs for people and it’s so hard to match what they want.

I recently had a remodel. Originally built in the ’70’s ?(pitched concrete tile roof) then 3 extensions since using trussed roof. Making it more open-plan meant some serious size beams in the roof space which now includes ducted air. Would like to have been able to model all the roof structures then virtually slide the beams in from one end & know for certain it was possible.
The Truss Run tool is fantastic – just gets all the truss profiles wrong.
