Large job, over 30 A3 worksheets, and nearly that many Building Locations. originally 72MB
I’ve deleted all worksheets, all unreferenced SmartViews, purged unused blocks trying to get the file size below the 10MB maximum here. No can do.
Returned to model views, deleted all but the original
Deleted everything possible in the model. Changed the TIN mesh terrain back to flat plane. Deleted all except 1 Location.
There are some entities that refuse to be selectable.
To get below the 10MB limit I’ve had to compress as .rar then rename as .zip
If it works, you’ll have to rename as *.rar then extract the bld (I think)
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
I suspect it is due to overlays I used from Google Earth to trace over contours then deleted.
Envisioneer doesn’t seem to offer any way to purge such images that are no longer referenced
OK so I gave up after half an hour of watching the dog chase it’s tail.
Will this work? only the partly gutted version saved in v11 format just in case that gives a wider audience

Also tried pasting the link as a Video URL as I’ve never tried this before
Here’s hoping!
I tried the download and was able to save the file in Projects and open the drawing. FynrDzynr works well.
Flowers.
I just want to know why the file is still 13MB when it’s been totally gutted!
FynrDzynr, where are you looking to see 13MB? The file in my Documents Library is 43.2MB.
Flowers.
The version you downloaded wasn’t fully gutted.
Try deleting everything & see if you can get it below 10MB
My OP states that I completely gutted it then archived as an rar file to get below the 10MB limit imposed here.
Duplicate all the steps I did in the OP & see if you can reduce it to <10MB
Hello Merv,
It seems you were able to upload a link of your project file on the community. We downloaded the file, opened and then compressed it but the file was still over 24MB in size. The fact you are able to upload a link should alleviate the need to upload a file to the community as an attachment.
Thanks,
~Anja
G’day Anja!
My problem is that the file is still huge once I’ve gutted everything. Users do NOT have accesss to any tools that would PURGE unreferenced entities in the MODEL space, only WORKSHEET.
Can this be rectified? or do we have to email huge files to Support to have someone delete whatever is causing the problem? Several years ago I had downloaded several large SU models of vehicles, inserted each in a bld before deciding which to use. Although I deleted those I rejected, the bld file remained huge until Chantale (iirc) solved the problem.
I’m not sure why this bld has gotten so big but would love to know, and be able to sort out the original 72MB file prior to the client asking me to proceed with documentation for Stage 2

Good Morning Merv,
After close examination of the project file, we were able to reduce the file size down to 44MB that is almost half the size, just by deleting the Unreferenced SmartViews and Blocks in his Worksheets.
Keep in mind that when Smartviews or Blocks are deleted from worksheets and unless you delete these Unreferenced Smartview/Blocks, they will take up the space making it seem that the project file is bigger than what it really should be.
Have a good day!
~Anja
So why does the front page say the most recent comment was by Anja2015 on Mar 30, 2017 at 01:58PM when all I can see now is up to March 2, 2017 at 2:54 pm?
Is this an April Fools Day prank?
Yes, there are quite a few MB still in unreferenced SmartViews & blocks but that still doesn’t explain why the bld is still 13MB when ALL worksheets are deleted, everything in model view is deleted, only 1 new location is defined, all unreferenced SmartViews deleted & blocks purged.
