Instructions:

Having a brick or stone base applied halfway below a siding or stucco veneer can be done in Envisioneer by taking advantage of Components.

In the Element Manager we are going to add a new wall type to our Siding Veneer folder. Select File>Catalogs>Element Manager.

In the Element Manager select Walls and then select the Siding Veneer folder and select the 2×6 Cement Board Siding wall.

Right-click and select Add Element. Select the Wall Systems option from the Define Element dialog.

This will adopt the properties of the 2×6 Cement Board Siding wall for the new wall.

At the top of the Walls dialog box, change the name of the wall to 2×6 Cement Board Siding Upper Brick Base.

To add the new Brick Base to our wall we need to add in a new Component. This new Component will display the correct material as well as the correct quantity information.

Under Properties press the Component Layout Select button.

Here all the components of the wall are listed on the left. We can see that the Exterior Finish is displaying the Cement Board Siding material. This is also where we will be assigning the Brick Base. Select the Cement Board Siding component under the Exterior Finish and then select the Add Component option.

In the Catalog Access dialog select the Brick Veneer option under Exterior Finish and then right click and select Edit Element. This is where the Properties, the Materials and the Quantity information for that Brick Veneer wall are created. Select OK to the Components Dialog and then select OK to the Catalog Access. This will add the Brick Veneer to the Exterior side of the wall.

In our preview we can see that the Brick Veneer is now added to the wall, but it is sitting above our Siding Material. We will need to move the Brick Veneer down by selecting the Move Down option. This will place the Brick below the Siding. In the Properties section we can also adjust how high we want the Brick Veneer to extend up or down on the face of the wall. We want the brick base to be 3’ high so we will enter a value of 3’ in the Top EdgeOffset from Wall Base option. The Bottom EdgeOffset from Core option will allow us to drop the brick down to cover any floor construction we will be using. We will keep ours at -11 ½”. If you look at the preview on the far right you can see how the exterior materials are lining up.

Note: If you enter a positive value here it will move the brick material up along the wall core.

Select OK to the Component Layout dialog and we will be back in the Walls Dialog.

Select the Trim tab.

The current wall has trim applied to the base of the wall that we will want to remove, and we will also want to add a concrete cap to the top of our Brick Base. Select the Advanced option to open the Advanced Trim s dialog. In here we can see all the trim being applied to the interior and exterior of the wall. Select the Exterior Tab and then select the Exclude option under Behavior for the Baseboard. This will remove the baseboard from our brick.

We are also going to add in a Concrete Cap to the wall, to do this, select the Add option and then select the Double Veneer Cap. We can now see the cap in our preview, but it is applying it to both sides of the wall. Under the Apply To section adjust that to be Exterior instead of Both.

Note: The preview will show the trim being applied to the entire opening in the catalog, but this is controlled under Settings > Document Setting > Trim Settings when you add the wall in.

Select OK and now the new wall is apart of your catalog.
